about

About a year ago, I suffered my first break up. Just like all the sappy songs and movies said it would be, it was horrible. He was the first boy I ever loved, and for that, I'm grateful. However, it was still a huge part of one of the darkest points in my life. I have since gotten over him, and writing this song was a huge help. As always, music helped me push through.

lyrics

The first time I knew you loved me,
it was all I could do,
to hide my blush and suppress my laughter,
Cus I knew I belonged to you.

Never thought this could happen.
At least not to someone like me.
But you saw something inside of me,
You found the part of me I could never see.

Now I know how it feels
to be lost in the rain on a clear and sunny day.
And now I know the price you pay to be in love,
is heart break.

It's clear now that you've changed.
Not sure why I thought it could ever be the same.
And even though
the scars you left on me aren't bleeding anymore,
They sure as hell are sore.

And I wish you knew how it felt
to be lost in the rain on a clear and sunny day.
And I wish you knew the price I paid to be in love.
I wish you felt heart break.

But we just had to grow older.
We just had to get wiser.
We just had to realize that maybe we don't belong together.
And I just had to be patient.
And you just had to give in,
to the ones who would tell you there's no way we would last
forever.
I wish love could last forever.

Now I know how it feels
to be lost in the rain on a clear and sunny day.
And now I know the price you pay to be in love,
is heart break.

I wish you knew how it felt to be lost in the rain.
I wish you knew the price I paid to be in love.
I wish you knew what it was like to be in love.

I want you to know, even if you weren't,
I was in love.
