about

Inspired by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson this song intentionally sounds a lot like some of their songs. I've written so many sad ballad songs that I really wanted to write something kind of fun for once. Once again, this is a song that took me so long to write that it ended up being about more than one guy. I swear I wasn't completely guy crazy, but man sappy love stuff and make for good music.

lyrics

I see you standing your back turned to me.
Got butterflies but it's too soon to see,
If you can see my face behind my blush.
I want you now, but hey what's the rush?

I know the girls you like and what you want.
And I know I don't have much to flaunt.
No matter what I do, you're oblivious.
Just setting myself up, to be crushed.

Well I never thought that I'd be the one to ask you.
And I never thought that I'd be the one to break it off, it's true.
But after all this time, I can't believe you're so blind,
that it's still you.
It's still you.

My heart is beating fast, I can hardly move.
All I can think is "what have I got to lose?"
I'm starting to wonder if I should just give up.
Who knew love could be this tough?

Well I never thought that I'd be the one to ask you.
And I never thought that I'd be the one to break it off, it's true.
But after all this time, I can't believe you're so blind,
that it's still you.
It's still you.

I'm falling quickly,
I'm going under,
Never really felt like this before.
We've been at this a while,
and I'm starting to wonder
If we'll ever be something more.

After all this time,
I can't believe I've been so blind,
That it's still you

And you want me too.
