This is a song I wrote a long time ago about someone who was my friend. I wasn't treated right, and I was finally able to let me anger out in a song. I recorded it with the help of my band from High School (Pinky Extended) and our friend Gabe.
lyrics
A few years ago, I met you.
Your hair was long then,
you said you were new.
Tried my best to make you laugh,
didn't know about your past
or what you'd been through
I had no intention of writin' a sad song,
but I guess I'll just sing along,
and see it through.
Didn't think at first- Well what could go wrong?
Didn't take me all that long... to catch on to you.
Well we, we became the best of friends,
spent every moment, just you and me.
And we, we hit a few rough spots,
but we always patched them up
even though you burned me, third degree.
I had no intention of writin' a sad song,
but I guess I'll just sing along,
and see it through.
Didn't think at first- Well what could go wrong?
Didn't take me all that long... to catch on to you.
Then one day,
you turned your back on me.
I still can't believe,
what a fool I was.
Then you, you made me choose....
there was no way I couldn't lose.
You don't want me?
That's your loss.
Now I think about it, it's not a sad song.
So I guess I'll just say so long,
I don't need you.
All I can say is that it's for the best,
so give it a rest,
you and I are through!
